The opportunity:

At this time we are seeking a Director of Information Technology.  While this position can be remotely based, the ideal candidate will reside in Ontario Canada, New York City or Chicago. This role will report to our Chief Technology Officer and be responsible for the management and development of IT teams that incorporate both existing infrastructure and new system technologies and work with senior executives to find the best strategies to meet requirements. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build and guide a successful IT practice; provide opportunities for team members to grow and prosper in delivering great services. 
  • Analyze, implement and evaluate IT systems, their specification and improve existing processes. 
  • Translate business requirements, design and drive the execution plan for successfully delivering high-quality output on time for various business-driven initiatives.
  • Help the team sequence, prioritize, and contribute to planning the portfolio of IT initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with partners across engineering, information security and the rest of the company to effectively align against goals, roadmap, and commitments. 
  • Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss. 
  • Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure. 
  • Analyzing IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs and operate and lead with a continuous improvement mindset.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar discipline with at least ten years of progressive systems administration and/or engineering experience ideally in the financial services industry
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing a team; onshore and offshore team management is strongly preferred and desired.
  • Proficient with Datadog, Rapid7, Sophos 
  • MS Azure Active Directory management experience  
  • AWS Solutions Expert/Solution Architecture/Design experience – minimum of 5 years. Certification preferred.
