In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, four capital markets veterans—Pradeep Bhatia, John Fleming, Frank Purnell and Zack Nagelberg—recognized a systemic gap: regional and community banks lacked access to the same risk management tools and expertise as Wall Street.
Leaving their leadership roles at Wells Fargo, they launched Derivative Path with a bold vision: deliver institutional-grade advisory services and cutting-edge technology to empower banks, credit unions, and corporates across the financial ecosystem.

In 2020 we raised our first outside capital in a minority, Series B round of $35 million from FTV Capital, a leading growth-focused private equity firm, fueling the further expansion of our technology platform and diversification of our service offering and client base.
